This was taken early morning on the Peninsular many years ago. It’s one of many flower photos I took before I started studying at Rutherford as a satellite to MIT.
There were many photo opportunities on the Peninsular. I took some of a baby hedgehog I found on my walks. Unfortunately my youngest son wasn’t there. I remember seeing a Stoat coming out of her nest with her babies behind her. She was very curious smelling the air around her.
Looking back now, these small encounters on the Peninsula feel like the early beginnings of my creative life — quiet moments that taught me to slow down, pay attention, and notice what’s easily missed.
This photograph is one of those memories, a reminder of how much beauty was already there before I ever thought of studying art.
