I work at the intersection of memory, image, and personal narrative. My creative practice blends photography, digital work, and autobiographical writing, shaped by years of exploring how identity forms and reforms over time. Pinhole photography was my first doorway into visual storytelling — a slow, deliberate process that taught me to pay attention to light, silence, and the unseen parts of a story.
Artistic Approach
My work is grounded in resilience, curiosity, and the small details that stay with us. I’m drawn to objects, places, and moments that carry emotional weight — a photograph found in an archive, a cathedral visited years ago, a quiet memory that refuses to fade. These fragments become part of a larger narrative about place, identity, and lived experience.
Current Projects
I’m currently developing a memoir and a new body of photographic work. These projects explore personal history, creative process, and the relationship between image and memory. I am also preparing material for my Creative New Zealand Early Career Fund application, expanding my practice into new forms of storytelling.
Background
I live and create in Auckland, New Zealand, where everyday life, limited space, and lived experience shape the rhythm of my work. My background in visual arts and photography continues to influence my writing, giving it a quiet, reflective tone that connects personal story with visual detail.
